December Food Sharing Report - Spreading Warmth in Winter

In the cold weather, people need sufficient food intake to resist the chill. Volunteers have been delivering food and warmth to those in need. We thank the volunteers for their efforts and contributions.

In December, volunteers conducted food recovery and sharing activities in ten areas: Tai Wai, Ma On Shan, Fo Tan, Tai Po, Fanling, Tseung Kwan O, Yuen Long, To Kwa Wan, Hung Hom, and Causeway Bay. A total of 5,343 loaves of bread and 125 meal boxes were collected, weighing 788.71 kg, benefiting 3,721 individuals.

Results by Area:

Tai Wai: Collected 1,735 loaves of bread (208.08 kg), shared with 1,596 cleaners and scavengers.

Ma On Shan: Collected 390 loaves (53 kg), shared with 293 cleaners and locals.

Fo Tan: Collected 686 loaves (58.48 kg), shared with 413 cleaners and locals.

Tai Po: Collected 1,313 loaves (220.66 kg), shared with 674 cleaners, scavengers, homeless individuals, and locals.

Fanling: Collected 347 loaves (40.9 kg), shared with 243 cleaners, security guards, scavengers, and homeless individuals.

Tseung Kwan O: Collected 244 loaves (24.49 kg), shared with 141 elderly individuals living alone, cleaners, and security guards.

Yuen Long: Collected 191 loaves (19.1 kg), shared with 96 cleaners, homeless individuals, and locals.

To Kwa Wan: Collected 90 sandwiches (included in the bread count), weighing 16.86 kg; collected 99 loaves (5.75 kg), shared with 97 cleaners, scavengers, and locals.

Hung Hom: Received 121 meal boxes (118 kg). All meal boxes were shared with 121 cleaners, scavengers, and locals in To Kwa Wan.

Causeway Bay: Received 4 meal boxes (2.24 kg); collected 248 loaves (21.15 kg). All meal boxes and bread were shared with 47 homeless individuals, cleaners, and locals in Causeway Bay.
